How a giant is made of many.

Why we're building a decentralized Ai network, what it does for the people who join it, how credits work, what we promise about privacy, and the questions we're still answering.

VirtualGiant Whitepaper

A decentralized Ai network built on everyday GPUs

Ai for all, so be it.

Abstract

VirtualGiant is a decentralized Ai network that runs on GPUs owned by households and small businesses. Members use the full Ai platform on their own hardware, for free and without limit. When a job is too large for their machines, it falls back to the network, and it is paid for with credits their machines earned by doing work for others while idle.

The network pools many members' machines to run work no single home GPU could, keeps each member's identifying details on their own node, certifies every GPU by what it actually delivers, checks results before credits can be spent, and records every credit in a tamper-evident ledger. NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs all take part. The methods behind it are patent pending; this paper explains what the network does and why, not how it is built.
